Can you even believe how cute Don and Katie are?! I am so excited to share their photos with you! All of my photo sessions are important to me, but these have a special place in my heart because Katie actually works for me as a second shooter! When her boyfriend Don reached out to me to set up this surprise proposal, how could I say no?
To really set up the surprise, I told Katie she needed to get dressed up for team photos that would go on our website. She knew we were going to Wellsville to check out a mountain location, so it was the perfect setup. We started by taking a few portraits of Katie, and after a few minutes I signaled to Don and he jumped into place. He had snuck up behind her, so when I told Katie to turn around, she saw Don on one knee. He popped the question and her reaction was priceless! It was definitely one of those “I seriously love my job” moments.
We ended up picking a mountaintop in the Wellsville mountains for their surprise proposal. I could not have asked for a more gorgeous location. It’s one of those places that I want to keep in my back pocket for future reference. After Don proposed, we stayed for a while and also got some engagement photos taken. Their pup even joined in for a few too! (seriously, it was so cute! If you’re ever wondering if you should bring your dog to a session–– do it!) Don and Katie made my job pretty easy because they are a gorgeous couple and were so much fun to be around! I’m so glad they trusted me to capture this special moment.
