Extended Homer Family | Oregon Coast

Family

This is my amazing family! Last year we vacationed on the Oregon Coast for the 4th of July weekend and decided to do family photos since we were all together. It is a pretty rare occasion when we all can get together so it was the perfect time to take pictures.

I have a BIG family as you can see. This trip was our Christmas present from my mom. It has been quite a while since we all had the chance to get together, especially for a happy occasion. This was our first family trip since my dad passed away in 2018, so it was a really special and much-needed trip for all of us.

We love this part of the Oregon Coast and have visited it many times before. The shoreline is captivating and it always comes with so much adventure. This is the beach outside The Inn at Otter Crest in Otter Rock, Oregon. It was windy the whole time we were there, but it was still magical. I always am thrilled when we get clear sunny days in Oregon but I also secretly enjoy the waves of weather.

I called around prior to our visit and got a photographer lined up to help do the photos for us. Then on the day of our shoot, the photographer had to cancel. Since it was a last-minute cancellation, I decided to wear my photographer hat and client hat simultaneously. I took a majority of the photos but we had to use a tripod for the big shots of the entire family.

Taking photos of your own family while trying to also be in the photos is difficult. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you have an alternative, but given the situation, I was happy with how the photos turned out. More than anything I was just so grateful we were able to capture such a special vacation with my entire family.
