There is something special about clients I get to see throughout multiple stages of life. I think it adds to my love of photography and why I continue doing it. I shot the wedding of Jordan and Carlie a few years ago and it was wonderful meeting all of their family and capturing their special day. I absolutely loved working with their families, so I was thrilled when Carlie’s mom, Teresa, reached out to me about booking a family session.
Seeing them again was great! They all had changed slightly from when I saw them last but the love was even more evident with all of them together again. We shot at a field in Mendon, Utah not too far from their home in Cache Valley and they wanted to also take photos at a nearby barn they grew up around. The barn was important to their family history and that of their community. They knew that the barn didn’t have very much time left so it was time to document how much it meant to them!
The timing of the shoot was vital for this family. Teresa’s oldest son and his family had recently relocated for school and this visit would be a rare opportunity to get them all back together again! Being back in Utah turned out to be a treat for all of us as we reminisced about the last time they were all together.
With time going by faster than ever, I enjoy photoshoots like this that help me remember just how important time together with your loved ones is. No one can stop time, however, I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to freeze moments of it with my photos. I hope this sweet family enjoyed their time with me as much as I enjoyed sharing my time with them and wish them the very best as they continue to grow together!
